Overview
Kalindi Pass Trek rises to an impressive altitude of around 6,000 meters in the majestic Great Himalayas. This challenging route isn’t for beginners — it requires true passion and solid experience in high-altitude trekking. Serving as a link between Gangotri and the Gastoli village near the Badrinath Valley, the trek offers a journey through raw Himalayan wilderness.
The adventure begins at Gangotri, a sacred town revered as one of the Char Dhams. Known for its dramatic glaciers, Gangotri sets the tone for the thrilling trail ahead. Throughout the trek, breathtaking vistas of Mt. Shivling and the Bhagirathi peaks remain constant companions, right from the starting point up to the high pass itself.
Along this route, trekkers traverse both remote and iconic Himalayan locations. The trail passes through Gomukh, the revered snout of the Gangotri Glacier and source of the holy Ganga River. Further on, lush meadows and lively streams surround Tapovan, while Vasuki Tal reveals its quiet, pristine charm in the high-altitude wilderness.
